Miss World 2013 - Megan Young Crowned-- Beautiful Pics

Actress Megan Young was crowned Miss World 2013 on Saturday, besting 126 candidates from all over the globe and earning the Philippines its first ever victory in the beauty contest.

Young accepted the Miss World crown from 2012 winner Wenxia Yu at the awarding ceremony in Bali, Indonesia.

Miss France Marine Lorphelin took second place while Miss Ghana Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter came in third.

"Amazing scenes here in Bali, Megan is overcome with emotions as a tear rolls down her cheek, promising to 'Be the best Miss World Ever'!"

Miss Philippines was crowned Miss World 2013 today in a glittering finale on the Indonesian resort island of Bali amid tight security following weeks of hardline Muslim protests.

Megan Young beat five other finalists, including France and Brazil, to win the coveted title in a contest broadcast to more than 180 countries worldwide.

She thanked the judges for choosing her and promised to "be the best Miss World ever".

The 23-year-old pledged to "just be myself in everything I do, to share what I know and to educate people".

Previous Miss Philippines bets

Before Young's victory, the highest honors for the Philippines in the Miss World competition was 1st runner-up in 1973, which went to Evangeline Pascual.

In 2011, the country's bet Gwendoline Gaelle Ramos Ruais was named 1st runner-up Asia & Oceania Continental Queen.

Last year, Miss World 2012 Philippines Queenierich Rehman was among the Top 15 candidates in the beauty contest.

Excited

Earlier in this year's competition, Young led the list of 10 semifinalists that included contestants from Brazil, Australia, France, Nepal, England, Indonesia, Spain, Jamaica, and Ghana.

 

Young, Lorphelin, and Shooter were joined in the final round by Brazil's Sancler Frantz Konzen, Spain's Elena Ibarbia Jimenez, and Gibraltar's Maroua Kharbouch.

 

Miss Gibraltar joined the five finalists after she was declared the People's Choice in the contest.

 

Hours before the finals night, Young had indicated she was excited about the competition.

Here are a few tips given by the south Indian beautiful  actress to help her fans and  to identify the correct mix of mutual funds to have in their investment portfolio.

Everyone should question themselves as ,Where am I? Where do I want to reach?

As you start planning your finances, it is very important that you take stock of your current portfolio and asset mix - What is the proportion of your existing investments between equity, fixed income and gold? Then, note down your key financial goals such as buying a car, a home or child’s education or marriage and target value of each goal.

By when?

Now assign a timeline to each goal . This action has an important bearing on the type of fund to choose, as equity funds are best for long-term goals (10+ years), hybrid funds for medium-term goals (4-8 years) and conservative fixed income funds for goals that fall within the next 2-3 years.

What is my goal amount?

Take target value of each goal and increase it by a reasonable inflation rate to arrive at the amount you will require . For example, if you are saving for a car that costs about Rs 5 Lakh today, with a horizon of 3 years, assuming 5 per cent inflation in car prices, you should target having around Rs 5.79 lakh at the end of three years.

How much?

Generally people are used to making investments in lump-sum amounts (FDs, insurance premiums, etc). In most cases lump-sum amounts meant for investing are collected by people over a period of time. People need to realise that while they spend money on a regular basis, they must also start investing on a regular basis. Systematic investment plans (SIP) are a great way to begin regular investments. SIPs are not only easier on the wallet and reduce the risk of one-time lump-sum investing; they also encourage disciplined savings approach.

For SIP investments, check if you are saving enough by assuming a reasonable growth rate based on past long-term average SIP return. For example, Large Cap funds have given 14-15 per cent SIP returns in last 10 years. Balanced Funds have delivered 12.5 per cent while MIP and Income Funds have a SIP return of 7.5-8 per cent. If your saving is not enough, try increasing the SIP amount little by little every year to help bridge the gap.

What is my risk appetite?

While it may be attractive to allocate your investment money in the asset class known to offer the highest return (that is, equities), it is very important to invest according to your risk appetite. This depends on multiple factors such as your age, your current savings, time to goal date, etc. Thus, someone who is saving to buy a car after 1 year will have a more conservative investment mix compared to someone who is saving for his retirement after 20 years.

Do I need multiple funds and facilities?

Investors need to understand the use of options like Systematic Investment Plan (SIP), Systematic Transfer Plan (STP) and Systematic Withdrawal Plan (SWP) to best manage their investments. Thus, saving for a long-term goal like retirement, it is ideal to use SIP in equity, which can then be incrementally moved to low-risk fixed income funds using STP as the retirement date approaches. Post-retirement, the amount can be withdrawn for meeting expenses using SWP.

After you are clear on the type of funds you need to invest in, look at the track record of the funds in that category. Choose funds that have a long-term record of consistent performance.

This is more like all bad things happening at one time. Heroine Anjali who is currently in a position to take off to the top league of heroines has been getting battered by her personal issues. Sometime back we saw how Anjali’s disappearing act created a major tension and sensation among the film nagar circles.

The Chennai court ordered her to appear for the hearings, but Anjali had given it a miss each time. Recently, she was even warned of a sure shot arrest if she doesn't attend this time. In a twist, her aunt herself withdrew the case citing that the actress is busy with her film appointments.

A defamation case was filed against Anjali for revealing to the media how her aunt had used her as an ATM. Anjali also went missing for a few days, creating a storm of controversy. She is now free from the case and court.

In a recent update, it has been found that, Anjali's aunt had filed a fresh case seeking Rs50,000 as monetary compensation each month from the actress. The troubles haven't ended yet. Bharathi Devi  is telling the court that she paid money to make Anjali an actress and wants compensation.

Holly Madison is doing what's in her br*east, er best, interest. 

The reality star recently took out a $1 million insurance policy on her breasts with Lloyd's of London insurance company, she confirmed to PEOPLE exclusively. 

Madison, 31, said she did it to protect herself and others who appear in her Las Vegas production, Peepshow. 

"I've heard about people getting bo*dy parts insured and I thought, why not?, because if anything happened to my boo*bs, I'd be out for a few months and I'd probably be out a million dollars," she said. "I thought I'd cover my assets." 

Literally. 

Madison appears topless during segments of the Vegas show, which, in her mind, made the insurance policy necessary. She also comprehends the quirkiness of it all. 

"I think it's kind of funny. I think they're getting the credit they deserve," she said. "They're my primary money makers right now."
