Latest Office Fashion - Coral lips-updated

Beauty trends don't have quite the same impact on office fashion as, say, a shoe-bootie or see-through blouse. This is because it's generally assumed that most women understand the difference between their day and night looks when it comes to hair and makeup.
For some, the difference is barely noticeable (a smokier eye , a darker lip), whereas others go big or stay home (think false lashes, glittery lids, over-the-top extensions).

So the news that dewy cheeks or blue shadow liner are having a moment never really penetrates 9-to-5 culture unless the looks are subtle enough to avoid raising superiors' eyebrows.
Still, trends do emerge that fall into that grey area between work and play.
This spring, it's the optimistically orange lip. On the Proenza Schouler runway, the shade was a zesty blood orange, while Missoni took a softer coral-coloured approach. The makeup artists for Prada and Sonia Rykiel did not hold back in going orange-licious. Unsurprisingly, Hollywood's early adopters – Maggie Gyllenhaal, Chloe Sevigny and Leighton Meester – have already been spotted with juicy fresh lips. It's certainly a look that lends itself to the red carpet.
But what about the office? As a test, try softer cantaloupe and papaya hues before going full-on Fanta. If you're going to buy only one tube, try MAC's Morange, which will work for most skin tones. (Honourable mention goes to YSL's Rouge Volupé in Orange Shiver.)

A gloss such as Makeup Forever's Electric Orange or Stila's Mango Crush stain is less committal.
Whatever shade or finish you choose, keep all other makeup to a minimum (except perhaps for a dusting of bronzer to play up the sun-kissed glow). Even your typical eye routine should be toned down. For this reason alone, orange lips are ideal for those with little time in the morning.
The goal, over all, is to avoid any comments from colleagues that sound passive-aggressive, as in, “Did you just eat an orange Popsicle?”
You can almost be sure, though, that some joker is going to crack wise with a line like “Orange you glad you wore lipstick today?”
But if you've brightened the day of even one person at work, consider your job well done.

Tips for Choose the Best Lipstick Color

Choosing the lipstick  color that suits you best can make all the difference in whether your makeup makes you look overdone, washed out, or like a more beautiful version of you. However, many women have a difficult time choosing their best lipstick color.

Step 1
Determine whether you have fair skin, medium skin, olive skin or dark (brown or black) skin.

Step 2
Use your skin tone to determine which shade of lipstick will look best on you.

Step 3
If you have fair skin, choose deep plum and wine reds with a blue undertone, light browns or beige with a       pink undertone, or light shiny pinks with blue undertones.

Step 4
If you have medium skin tone, choose deep browns, deep reds with blue undertones, warm reds, medium       browns with pink or yellow undertones, deep, rich pinks, and pinks with brown undertones.

Step 5
Choose deep and rich browns with reddish or mahogany undertones, dark berry shades, and rich and dark       pinks with yellow undertones if you have yellowish or olive skin.

Step 6
Choose dark reds with blue undertones, deep plums, any shade of brown, soft sheer pinks and beige      shades, and deep berry shades if you have dark skin tone.

Step 7
Wear lighter and glossier shades if you have thinner lips, as they generally make thin lips appear fuller.       Dark lipsticks will make your thin, small lips even thinner and smaller.

Step 8
Wear darker, matte lipsticks if you have very full lips.

Step 9
Wear deeper, darker or bolder lipstick colors and shades with light eye makeup.

Step 10
Wear a lighter or more neutral lip color to complement heavier eye makeup.

Step 11
Wear lighter and more neutral colors of lipstick with a matte or cream finish during the day (at work, for example), and save your darker, glossier and more dramatic colors for a night on the town.

Lipstick Tips - How to Apply

Many women who are unsure of how to wear lipstick skip that step totally leaving makeup looking unbalanced. The wrong color lipstick, heavy lip liner and lips that have been "drawn on" are common makeup mistakes that will ruin your overall
look.

Perfect looking lips are attainable and begin with an ideal lip line. You can have lips that look like a makeup artist did them simply by following a few important steps.

1. When applying foundation continue over the lips to provide a base for lip liner and lipstick.

2. Keeping your mouth-closed trace a fine line around the lips with a sharp pencil. A blunt pencil will make blending more difficult. Start at the v of the top lip and move outward to lip corners by making short strokes (rest your hand on your chin for better control). After you have penciled in the top lip, begin from the middle of the bottom lip and move outward also. Follow the natural lip line.

3. To make lips look larger follow the outer edge of the natural lip line making sure not to go over the natural lip line. To make lips look smaller follow the inside of the natural lip line.

4. Lipstick will stay on longer if the whole lip is filled in with lip liner before lipstick is applied. If you decide to use this technique, be aware that darker lip liner will darken the look of your lipstick. And, if you are going for a light look use a light lip liner.

5. Now that lips are filled in, apply lipstick with a lipstick brush (using a lip brush will give you more control). When lipstick has been applied, with lips closed, lay a tissue across both lips to blot.

You are ready to go, with perfect lips. Continue with touch ups during the day. If you are not used to wearing lipstick, it will probably take awhile to get used to having your lips done and not "eating" the lipstick. The plus to having nice lips, aside from the obvious, is you will never be plagued with dry lips again an over time they become softer. That's certainly reason enough to take care of your lips.
